What should I expect?
A little science, a little magic. I’ll talk a little bit about food safety, what fermentation is, where kimchi comes from, and what my methods are. Then we will get our hands into some veggies! (Optional- you can also just observe if you feel more comfortable.)
I am bringing all spices, and equipment that you will need.
You will be adding seasonings and spice to your own batch, so you can customize it to your liking.
This is a small group so I welcome you to share your knowledge and questions as we work.
A beautiful, clean space, with a cafe and grocery store just outside in the Wedge.
What will I come home with?
You will get step by step instructions on how to ferment veggies, and an opportunity to buy a quart of spice paste, which makes 3-4 quarts of fermented veggies, for $25.
You will get about a quart of vegetables.
You will take that container home and either eat it fresh, or ferment it to your taste! You’ll be able to contact me during that time if you have any questions about your pickle.
If you would like to purchase #picklewitch pickles from me, please look at my website, and let me know ahead of time what you would like me to bring.
What am I responsible for bringing?
2 quarts of chopped vegetables.
Wear an apron or clothing that you wouldn’t mind getting food on.
A container with a lid that can hold about a quart, preferably glass or food-safe plastic.
Your insight and enthusiasm!
How much does this cost?
Please pay up to $30 to confirm your RSVP. Your spot is not saved until payment is completed. There are no refunds. You will receive an email with payment instructions after you RSVP.
$20 will cover the cost of this hands-on workshop. If you are not willing/able to bring vegetables, please pay $30. If you are not willing/able to pay $20, or you would like to observe and not participate in the hands-on portion, please contact me and I’ll make sure this workshop is accessible to you.

Who is the Pickle Witch?
Pickle Witch is fermenting, preserving, and curing foods in a Minneapolis kitchen. All of my fermented pickles are vegan and gluten-free, in addition to being delicious and packed with healthy, live probiotics. I use the best possible produce and ingredients, make food in small batches with a touch of magic, and use sustainable packaging.
I have been pickle witching for about three years. I started fermenting about 8 years ago, and I haven’t been able to stop. I have taught a lot of workshops, teaching about 100 people how to ferment their own veggies, with great success! I also offer private parties and customized workshops.
